More often than not, air mattresses are thick and wide but when deflated, they can fit just about anywhere. So, do not think twice about buying an air mattress.

Tips for Sleeping in a Tent
Now that we have seen the different types of sleeping gear, let us look at the tips of sleeping in them.
Get the right gear
This is obviously the first and most important tip when it comes to sleeping outdoors. The right sleeping gear will be determined by your needs and the type of camping. If you are going to camp as a group, then you will need a lot more than just a single sleeping bag, pad, or mattress. Of course, you are going to need to make some sleeping arrangements after which you will need to decide on a sleeping gear that will be appropriate for you.
Consider the prevailing weather elements in the area you are going to camp. You will need to select a sleeping mattress that reduces the possibility of cold weather taking a toll on you. Make sure you select a sleeping mattress thick enough to insulate the cold on the ground.
This refers to bringing along extra sleeping items that would otherwise be absent in an ordinary camp setting. They include pillows, earplugs, and eye masks. The accessories play an important role in your sleep by bringing the experience as close to home sleeping as possible. Remember, you might not be the only people at the campsite and the other users of the camp have the right to use their time the way they deem fit. This means that not everyone would necessarily be asleep when you will be sleeping at the camp. And, you do not want the activities of other camp users to disrupt your sleep. The best way to do this is by bringing an eye mask with you to the campsite. With an eye mask, you will not see the need to switch off the lights to get some sleep. Once you put them on, you will be good to go the whole night.
Be sure to get yourself together in case you wake up in the middle of the night to answer nature’s call or something of the sort. To be on the safe side, it is advisable to pee twice before you go to sleep. Visit the restroom 30 minutes before bedtime followed by immediately before you go to bed. This way, you will save yourself the trouble of making several midnight trips to the restroom.
But, if you must visit the restroom in the middle of the night, then there’s a way you can prepare for it just so it doesn’t end up being much of a hassle. Keep camp shoes or sandals close enough to your mattress or ear the tent door. Most importantly, keep track of your headlamp. You should also cater to your water needs by placing a full water bottle next to your sleeping mattress just in case you get thirsty in the middle of the night.
The secret to a peaceful night at the camp lies in two things: the type of sleeping gear you have and how much you accessorize. Whether you are going to spend the night on a sleeping pad, and air mattress, or in a sleeping bag, it matters a lot how you accessorize your sleeping gear. Getting the right accessories will take you lots of steps closer to the comfort that you get in your bed at home.
